Langtang Valley Trek: Ultimate Guide is the third most popular trekking destination after the Annapurna and Everest Region. Langtang Valley is the second largest National park of Nepal. Located at only 19 miles north of Kathmandu which is very close to the border of Tibet. It is a hidden paradise with the combination of a moderate and adventurous walk which leads to the alpine valley, forest with a close-up view of the snow-capped peak. We offer an excellent journey to Langtang valley from Shyaprubesi after 9 hrs drive from Kathmandu following a trail upstream of Bhote Koshi river. The Trail offers you a great combination of Harmony with nature, fascinating green valleys and the laps of Himalayan range of Mountains and numerous lake. During the Langtang Valley Trek, the trail passes through ancient villages, Rhododendron forest, Oak forest which offers a joyful moment. People of this region belong to Tamangs, Lamas and Sherpa community. Though they belong to a different group, they are encircled with Buddhist religion where their culture is adaptable. Day 01
Arrival at International Airport and Transfer to Hotel

Kathmandu Altitude: 1380 m
Overnight at Kathmandu
Accommodation: Three Star Hotel

Our officials will be waiting for you in the terminal to pick you from there after your flight arrives at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Then they drive you to your hotel and help you check in to your respective rooms.

The remaining day is free to do as you please so that you can visit the nearby markets, restaurants, or sites. The local markets are crowded throughout the day, and the restaurants offer various cuisines you can try like Thai, Chinese, Korean, traditional, and more.

Day 02
Drive to Syabrubensi (1450m).

Syabrubensi Altitude: 1450 m
Driving Hours: 7 to 8 hours
Overnight at Syabrubensi
Accommodation: Tea House

After a long wait, finally, your Langtang Valley Trek begins today. You wake up fast, re-check your bags, and get ready for the trip. After breakfast, you wait for your guide at the lobby to come to pick you up.

After the arrival of your guide, you board the bus and head out to your destination. The journey begins by driving along the north-western side of Kathmandu and climbing high over the ridges as you leave the city behind.

As you drive ahead into the road, you get to see the impressive views of Annapurna I, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and many other minor peaks. You also see small towns, villages, green hillocks and pass several rivers while driving along the route.

Driving for a few hours, you arrive at the bustling Trishuli Bazar, where you have your lunch before continuing further on the road. Viewing the scenarios, you pass through Betrawati, then Dunche, and make an hour’s descent to reach Syabrubensi. This road once used to be a significant trade route between Nepal and China that went through Tibet.

Syabrubensi is a beautiful village and the gateway to reach some of the best well-known treks of Langtang. The air around the town is fresh and cool, with prayer flags everywhere. There is also a hot spring down at the river if you want to relax. You get a nice and calm feeling during your stay here.

Day 03
Syabrubensi trek to Lama Hotel (2480m).

Lama Hotel Altitude: 2480 m

Walking Hours: 6 to 7 hours

Walking Distance: 10.9 km

From this day onwards, you begin your walk on the Langtang valley trails. The first-day excitement will keep you on your feet throughout the routes. You start the trek after breakfast by walking along the Bhote Koshi river that flows down from Tibet.

Continuing following the trail, you visit the Guru Rinpoche Gomba, where you pray for the trek. Then next, walk through the stone-paved street out of the town and along the Langtang Khola.

Walking about a bit further, you cross over the Khola using a suspension bridge and do a gradual climb till Bamboo. This beautiful place is situated in the canyon and features many guest houses near the river. You have your lunch in Bamboo before moving ahead.

From here, the trail takes you through a subtropical forest covered with oaks, maple, fir, rhododendron, blue pine, and massive spruce. You also get to see various wildlife like wild boars, red pandas, langurs, Himalayan black bears, and yellow-throated martens.

Then making slow and steady uphill climbs, you arrive at Lama Hotel. This small village is a few minute’s walks from the river that has several excellent hotels. This spot is a popular rest point for trekkers surrounded by forest.

Day 04
Lama Hotel trek to Langtang (3540m).

Langtang Village Altitude: 3540 m

Walking Hours: 5 to 6 hours

Walking Distance: 14.8 km

Overnight at Langtang Village

The trekking journey today from Lama Hotel to Langtang village is quite impressive. You wake up early, pack your gears, have your breakfast, and begin by doing a gentle climb that gets steeper as you reach higher.

Continuing the walk alongside the Langtang Khola, you pass through the forests of oak, maple, colorful rhododendron, and hemlock. Also, the beautiful glimpse of snow-covered peaks begins to meet the eyes, including Mt. Langtang.

Following the path leads you towards a log bridge and takes you across an abundant pasture of Ghora Tabela at 2992 m. You have your lunch here and slowly do a gradual climb that opens up to the glacial.

After that, you continue walking the trails through yak pasture and pass a helipad before briefly climbing through rhododendron forests to reach the Tamang village.

Then crossing a stream on these trails, you reach the settlement of Langtang. This beautiful village has Tibetan-style houses with flat roofs and beautifully carved wooden windows. Stone walls surround the entire town to enclose the fields where turnips, potatoes, barley, etc., are grown.

Day 05
Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa (3900m).

Kyanjin Gompa Altitude: 3900 m

Walking Hours: 4 to 5 hours

Walking Distance: 6.8 km

Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa

Accommodation: Tea House

Today you head towards Kyanjin Gompa from Langtang, which is a few hour’s walks. After waking up, you have your breakfast, pack your bags, and continue your Langtang valley trek.

The trail begins by leading along the Mani Walls and climbing a ridge topped by a vast chorten. Then doing gradual climbs, you pass the beautiful prayer flags and cross a stream to reach Mundu at 3543 m.

From here onwards, you cross several small streams using wooden bridges and pass many moraines. Walking ahead, you get the view of Kyanjin Gompa and the stunning icefall flowing from the peaks of Kimshug and Langtang Lirung.

Continuing to walk in the trails, you finally arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, the last place with tea houses. During your stay here, you can visit the beautiful and famous monastery.

This place is also famous for its cheese factory that offers yak curd, so if you like them, you can visit the spot to try some. As you explore the village, it offers the panoramic view of Dorje Lhakpa, Langshisha Ri, Ganja La, Tsergo Ri, and more.

Day 06
Day hike up to Tsergo ri(4985m) or Kyanjin Ri (4800 m)and back to Kyanjin Gompa.

Tsergo Ri Altitude: 4985 m

Walking Hours: 5 to 6 hours

Overnight at Kyanjin Gompa

Accommodation: Tea House

After continuously walking for so many days, you finally have your rest day, which you utilize by hiking up to Tsergo Ri. Before going on a hike, you will visit the famous Kyanjin Gompa to attend the morning prayer.

Then after having your breakfast, you walk high till Tserko Ri, the highest point of the Langtang valley trek. The hike to this place is easy and exciting, with breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks.

From this point, you get to see the entire Langtang ranges, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji, and more. After spending some time here, you have your lunch and return to Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 07
Trek back to Rimche.

Rimche Altitude: 2450 m

Walking Hours: 8 to 9 hours

Walking Distance: 21.6 km

Overnight at Rimche

Accommodation: Tea House

After a fun and adventurous time in Kyanjin Gompa, you now trek down to Rimche. The trek this day is quite long compared to other days. Before beginning today’s excursion, you first have your breakfast here, observing the snowy peaks.

Then following the same trail, you trek back, walking along the Langtang Khola and reach Langtang village. After that, you keep moving ahead and head towards Ghora Tabela, where you stop for lunch/

After that, you make a steep descent to Lama Hotel and walk a short distance before reaching Rimche. This small village is divided into two parts and sits on the north side of the canyon. The east trails of this village are connected to Sherpagaon.

Day 08
Trek to Syabrubensi.

Walking Hours: 6 to 7 hours

Walking Distance: 10.9 km

Overnight at Syabru Bensi

Accommodation: Tea House

Eight days have already passed without you knowing, and your Langtang valley trek is now coming to its end. Today, you walk the trails that take you back to Syabru Bensi.

After a hectic breakfast, you begin your hike retracing the steps. Today, the trails are mostly downhill that leads you through mystical forests, allowing you to enjoy the fascinating views of green hills and mountains.

You make rise and fall on the paths while passing through several traditional villages that offer you the opportunity to see the customs and culture of the ethnic group.

With exciting scenarios and long hour walks, you finally arrive at Syabru Bensi. You can visit the natural hot spring to relax and enjoy your final night here.

Day 09
Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Kathmandu Altitude: 1380 m

Driving Hours: 7 to 8 hours

Overnight at Kathmandu

Accommodation: Three Star Hotel

Like this, your Langtang valley trek is now ending as you return to Kathmandu on the tenth day. You wake up early and drive back, passing through terraces, local settlements, rivers, high hills, and more.

You drive along the Trishul rivers while viewing the lush green forests. After spending an entire day in the vehicle, you arrive in Kathmandu late in the evening.

You must feel fatigued after the long day so that you can rest in your room. But if you still have energy left, then stroll around markets and enjoy the nightlife of Kathmandu.

Day 10
Drive to TIA airport for your final flight departure to home.
