Jomsom Muktinath Trek is named as holiness site. This trekking trail follow the route of Annapurna Region. According to the hindu mythology it mentions clearly about popular-shaded Muktinath (3760m) as the source of mystic Shaligrams stone ammonite fossils found in the Kali Gandaki Gorge. It is regarded as important site for both Hindus and Buddhist since 330 BC. The trek has major attraction of perpetual natural- gas flame hidden half-underground beside a little spring particularly a holy combination of earth, air,fire and water. The deepest gorge in the world Kali gandaki gorge is also a major attraction. During the trek it allows you to close up view of Himalaya and experience about diversity of culture. The trail passes through beautiful villages,Monasteries,Chorten,prayer flags and Mani Walls which blend attraction of this trek.
Arrival and transfer you to the hotel for the overnight stay.
Drive by Car or Tourist bus about 5/6hrs and stay over night at Hotel in Pokhara.
On this day we will take flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and trek towards Kagbeni, which takes about 3hours crossing the Kali Gandaki river, which leads towards Jomsom. Overnight at hotel.
After taking breakfast, the trail ascend up out of the valley to a high desert bench overlooking the river below. We walk onwards to Muktinath – an important pilgrimage destination for Hinduism and Buddhism with a Gompa and Pagoda style temples. The most interesting importance of the area however is the spot with burning natural gas. Overnight at Lodge.
On this day we will hike up to Thorong Phedi at 4450meters where there is existence of good Guest houses built. Then trek back to Muktinath on the same day. Overnight at Lodge.
Trek back to Jomsom from Muktinath (5-6 hrs.)
Early in the morning fly back to Pokhara by air. Free day at Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel
Drive back to Kathmandu from Kathmandu by a private vehicle ( around 5 hrs.) or take a flight ( 35 min).
