Jiri – Everest base camp trek allows following the traditional route of the footprints of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa, who first climbed the Mount Everest. It is one of the classic Middle Hills treks in Nepal free from hassle crowds flying to Lukla. Although the construction of the new road is already access beyond Jiri to Shivalaya now it has remained as a center point starting point of the trek.
The inhabitant of this region is Sherpa people who are formerly from Tibet who live chiefly along the Dudh Koshi River. The route is still used by porters, mules who carry necessary goods, but only a few trekkers follow this route in compare to Lukla to Everest Base Camp Trek.
Normally in the first-week trial begins at an altitude of (1800m) and passes through the lay of land, the trail dips and soars between tropical Valley and crosses numerous ridges descending down to rivers at around 1500m and ascending passes over 3000 meters. The trail offers you wonderful views of terraced farmlands, forests. People of this region practice Hinduism and Buddhism their culture. Hence Jiri – Everest base camp trek has been able to grab the attention of those trekkers who prefer to get indulge them self in the beauty of nature.
As the trials ascend towards the Namche the ‘up and down’ trial continues to rise which cause a variation in change in temperature which drops to lower in the night time. There are numerous hubs of this region like Tengboche Monastery which is regarded as the largest Monastery. As the trail ascends the human settlement becomes smaller but trial offers a beautiful view of the ice and pure breathtaking glacial landscapes.
A final acclimatization is taken at Dingboche. A slow walk up to Lobuche, Gorakshep and the track leads to Everest Base Camp. After spending the second night at Gorakshep, an early morning trek up to Kalapathar offers a breathtaking view of Pumori, Everest, and the South Col, Nuptse and Lhotse etc.
As the trek begins to end a descend walk to Namche begins more quickly. And from there it’s a day’s walk to Lukla for an early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
Arrival in Kathmandu. You will be met, greeted and transported to the hotel.
This day we drive early in the morning towards Jiri. It takes about 6/7 hours to reach Jiri. We will enjoy scenic view throughout uphill and downhill drive to Jiri. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will start walking through scenic uphill and downhill trail crossing jungle and villages. It will take 7/8 hours to reach Deurali. From there we will see Gaurishankar in Rolwaling range. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk for about 7/8 hours to reach Sete. We will walk uphill and downhill trail crossing jungle and villages. Overnight at lodge.
This day in the beginning we will walk uphill till lamjura pass. After this we will walk descend towards junbeshi through rhododendron forest and villages.We will reach Junbeshi after 7/8 hours. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will ascend towards view point from there we will see beautiful views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Amadablam. We continue walking ascending and descending through the jungle and villages towards Nunthala. We will reach Nunthala after walking 6/7 hours from Junbeshi. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk through ascending and descending trail crossing Dudh Koshi river, small jungles and villages. We will walk about 7/8 hours to reach Paiya. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk towards Phakding through uphill and downhill trail crossing jungles and small villages. We will walk for about 5/6 hours to reach Phakding. From there we will have good views of Lukla Bazaar, Kwangde. Overnight at lodge.
Walking through the magnificent forests of rhododendron, ending your nature-filled journey at Namche Bazaar (7 hrs from Phakding). While passing this long and often-steep passage, experience both the serenity and scenery of blue pine forests, firs, and junipers – all serving as the foreground to the beautiful backsplash that is Mount Everest .Overnight at lodge/hotel/guest house.
Enjoy the beauty of Namche’s quaint village as well as the friendliness and hospitality of its local people. Trekkers may also visit the local museum containing exhibits displaying the area’s native flora and fauna as well as the history of the Mount Everest region. Overnight at Tea house /hotel/Guesthouse
This day we will walk straight 1 and half hours, and then we will walk through ascending and descending trail. It will take about 7 hours to reach Dole. From there we will see good views of Rolwaling range, Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum kanguru, Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam, Everest, Cholatse and Lhotse shar. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk ascend at the starting and then walk straight towards Machhermo. We will reach Machhermo in about 4 hours. From there we will see spectacular view of Cho-oyu and other few mountains. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk for about 4/5 hours to reach Gokyo through almost straight trail crossing small river. From there we will see Cho-oyu, Gyachung Kang. Overnight at lodge.
Early morning we will walk towards Gokyo ri, form there we will see spectacular views of Cho-oyu, Everest, Makalu, Pumori, Gauri Shankar and many more. We will return to Gokyo for lunch and after lunch we will continue towards Thagnak. We have to walk total 6 hours to reach Thagnak from Gokyo. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk uphill at the starting and then little straight and again we will walk uphill and downhill through the glacier. From there we will see good views same as from Namche to Dole. Overnight at lodge.
This day we will walk about 3 hours to reach Lobuche from Djongla through slightly ascending trail. From there we will see various villages such as Dingboche, Pheriche, Dughla. Overnight at lodge.
Enduring a climb of approximately two (2) hours to arrive at Gorak Shep where you are treated to yet another beautiful view of Mt. Everest and Pumori – reaching Kala Pathar (within two hours of trekking). Once observing one of the most up-close and formidable views of Mt. Everest from Kala Patthar, return back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay at Tea House Lodge.
Walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to the Everest Base Camp – the closest destination reachable without proper mountain-climbing equipment. Here, enjoy the spectacular view of the Khumbu Icefall from the world-renowned Mount Everest Base Camp before descending to Lobuje. Overnight at lodge/resort/hotel.
This day we will walk slightly 6/7 hours downhill to Tengboche from there we can visit Tengboche monastery, which is a largest monastery in Nepal and also we can see good views of Amadablam, Everest and more. Overnight at lodge.
We will descend 5 hours to reach Namche Bazaar. Once again traversing the beautiful, prismatic forests of blue pine and rhododendron. We will have a chance to see our national bird (danfe), Mountain sheep and many more wildlife. Overnight at lodge.
An easy walk down to Lulka for the final night’s stay in the Khumbu region – participants can explore Lukla, a rapidly changing portion of the Himalayas. Overnight at lodge/hotel/guest house
Take a return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu where participants can kick up their feet and relax at a hotel; taking time to reflect on the journey behind them Overnight at hotel.
This day you will be free for various activities such as shopping ,sightseeing and etc. Overnight at hotel.
Transfer to airport, departure on your own destination.
