Helambu Trek

Helambu Trek is one of the beautiful short treks which located 72 kilometers northeast of  Kathmandu Valley. Normally this trail is relatively un-spoilt. This trek is suitable for those people who don’t have enough spare time in Nepal.  Helambu Trek is a 6 days long trek which begins from Sundarijal and trail passes through Chisopani, Hyolmo, Kutumsang, Magi Goth, Tharepati, Melamchi gaun, and Tarke Ghyang. The trail allows you to experience about Hyolmo culture of mountain people, majestic waterfalls, bamboo forests, and the snow-capped Himalayas. Nowadays there is an existence of two roads one is the footpath trail via Shermathang and another one is the bus route via Kiul Takpa Kharka. Hence the way leads you to junction point at Melamchi where you can take a bus to Kathmandu.  Most of the part of Langtang region is dominated by Tamangs and Tibetans.  The Trail passes through thick mountain forests with Himalayan views, beautiful rice terraces, and Buddhist Monasteries. The maximum elevation of this trek is about 3650m.
